  2. Shame his priced dropped from £80,000 at his last solo show to £30,000 for all the above canvases...and from £25,000 to £2000 for the first available work in this show (compared to the LA one).
Even tho this do not reflect Micallef's ability to paint, it does reflect how bad he has been managed and how upset his past clients will be when finding out...
Good luck on the artist career as well as his gallery.
No more hype and cash in I should think.

  3. good point Anonymous at 4:39 a.m. While he pisses off his buyers from Impure Idols, I think he has gained new ones given the economy.

  5. Very nice images, congratulations to A Micallef for continuing to advance his talent.

It is strange that A Micallef show is the only topic on this blog. Makes me wonder about the motivation for creating the blog.

Anonymous, at 4:39 AM you raised a valid point, in that the drop from £80,000 to £30,000 is something to be pissed about. However, the drop is not that different from the drop in the overall contemporary art market or the stock markets.
For example, the emerging market funds bottomed with that kind of drop.
So yes, while these drops are something to be pissed about and something that makes me not sleep well, it is not reflective of Antony Micallef or his management. Look at what happened to Banksy or Hirst prices - its the same, even though they are managed differently.
